Tropical Storm Julia has just downgraded to a depression.
Julia is moving north away from the First Coast. As of 2 p.m., Julia was centered just offshore of Savannah, GA.
The storm is still packing sustained winds of 40 MPH, making it a minimal tropical storm.
Tropical Storm Julia is likely to weaken to a depression later Wednesday.
All tropical storm warnings have also been canceled for the entire First Coast.
While the storm has mostly moved away, feeder bands wrapping around from the storm will likely bring showers and strong wind to the area this afternoon.
Minor storm damage was reported in several coastal communities, including Mayport, Neptune Beach, and St. Simons.
The storm formed just west of Jacksonville around 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
A First Coast News viewer in Yulee recorded a 61 mph wind gust.
St. Simons Island set a record for rainfall Tuesday, recording 4.43 inches, easily surpassing the old record of 2.03 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
