The Woodlands named top place to live in Texas

HOUSTON - According to, The Woodlands is ranked as the best place to live in Texas.

Looking at a variety of data sources, NerdWallet ranked the 50 largest cities in Texas on quality-of-life indicators to determine the best places to live. The analysis included crime, housing and demographics and education. The top 15 cities named on the list included:

1. The Woodlands

2. Allen

3. Frisco

4. Sugar Land

5. McKinney

6. Pearland

7. Plano

8. League City

9. Missouri City

10. Carrollton

11. Midland

12. Richardson

13. El Paso

14. Atascocita

15. College Station

Crime data represented 30% of the score; education 20%; housing and demographics 40%; and the walk score 10%.
