Woman's body pulled from creek in downtown Austin

AUSTIN - Austin Police pulled a woman's body from Waller Creek, near Fourth street and I35 in Downtown Austin.

At 3:16 a.m. Saturday morning Austin Police, Austin Fire Department and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to reports of a person drowning in the creek near the 700 block of E. Fourth St. The woman's body was pulled from the water at 4:14 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was identified as Tia Shane Brooks, 24.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to submit their tips to APD here or with their mobile app on iPhone and Android.
