Two dead in Fort Worth shooting, person of interest detained

FORT WORTH - Two people were found dead Sunday morning on a residential driveway and a suspect has been detained, police said.

The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of relatives.

Patrol officers responded to a shooting call shortly before 4 a.m. in the 800 block of Buffalo Springs Drive.

A female caller told a dispatcher that two people had been shot outside of a residence, and that she may have known one of the victims . Six shots were fired, police said.

At least one of the victims lived in that home, neighbors said.

Family and friends were seen crying, hugging, and bringing flowers to the home, while investigators worked inside the home next door. They would not confirm yet how the next door neighbor's home is connected.

Jordan Milner, who lives nearby, described the neighborhood as quiet and said his wife was “distraught” after hearing of the shooting. Fort Worth Police spokesman Marc Povero said the department doesn’t often receive reports of violent crime in the neighborhood.

One person was detained for questioning, but police had not filed charges at the time of publication. Police are not searching for additional suspects, Povero said.
