Trooper: 12 children injured in N. Texas school bus accident

WAXAHACHIE, Texas — Twelve children were injured in a rollover accident Tuesday morning, according to a trooper at the scene.

The bus rolled over on Highway 879 northeast of Waxahachie.

At the scene, Trooper James Colunga reported seven of the children were taken to Children's Medical Center of Dallas and five others were taken to Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie.

Colunga said one child had a broken arm, but there were no life-threatening injuries.

Cedric Harrison said he was called to the scene by his daughter, who was on the bus when it rolled over.

"The bus just came around the curb and it just slipped and flipped over once," he said his daughter told him of the accident.

Harrison said his daughter was OK, only suffering minor cuts.

Waxahachie is located south of DFW.
