SAPD: Man caught breaking into building that houses Trump campaign

SAN ANTONIO - A burglary suspect was arrested after attempting to break into the office building where Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's San Antonio campaign headquarters are located, San Antonio police said.

Officers were dispatched around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to reports of an attempted burglary at an office building located in the 1800 block of NE Loop 410 near Harry Wurzbach Road.

Police said an off-duty officer working overnight at the Trump office heard a noise from inside the building. The officer observed the suspect attempting to enter the offices in the building and detained the suspect until an on-duty officer arrived.

From the initial investigation, police found that the suspect had been breaking into other offices along the highway and did not find any evidence that the Trump offices were specifically targeted.

The suspect has been booked on two counts of burglary of a building.
