Woman injured in San Marcos country club shooting

HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS - An argument amongst several people at a country club in San Marcos ended with an innocent bystander being shot and sent to the hospital.

According to the Hays County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Quail Creek County Club in the 2700 block of Airport Highway at 1:10 a.m. for a disturbance call.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they said they found an 18-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. Officials said the woman was not involved in the argument and was randomly shot. EMS took her to an Austin hospital, where she is said to be doing okay.

Police said the suspect was described by witnesses as a black man with a thin build, a green jacket and beanie hat. He was seen fleeing the scene in a white colored Sedan with aftermarket rims and tires.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hays County Sheriff's Office at 512-393-7896 and request to speak with the Criminal Investigations Division.
