SAN ANTONIO -- An 11-year-old girl was shot and killed on the city's north side Thanksgiving morning, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
In a video on the SAPD Facebook page, Chief McManus said a bullet most likely meant for a teen boy ended up killing his little sister at a home in the 100 block of Harwood Drive.
"We do believe it's gang-related, associated directly with the brother," McManus said.
The child was said to be in bed watching television when she was shot.
Five other people were in the home when 'multiple rounds' went off. No one else was injured.
EMS worked on the child at the scene, but she was pronounced dead shortly after.
"Any day is bad but Thanksgiving makes it worse. There will be a special place for this person when he goes to the next life. This is just unforgivable," McManus said.
The child's teen brother is being interviewed by police.
