HOUSTON—The Houston Police Officer’s Union is asking Harris County District Attorney Pat Lykos to file charges against Marvin Driver.

Driver is the man who accused three officers of beating him so badly, he was put in the hospital.

The Houston Police Officer’s Union has never believed the allegations made by Driver were true.

Driver is the father of Donald Driver, who plays for the Green Bay Packers.

The elder Driver claims he was arrested outside of his mother’s home in Southeast Houston back in November on outstanding traffic warrants.

Marvin Driver hasn't been able to speak since he was hospitalized.

He said he was severely beaten while in custody.

An HPD Internal Affairs investigation uncovered no evidence that the officers harmed him.

The officers were all cleared of wrongdoing.

In a letter to Lykos, the Police Union asked that Marvin Driver be charged with perjury.

Lykos told 11 News she has not yet reviewed their letter.

She said after doing so, she’ll decide what – if any – actions need to be taken.
