Expect a gorgeous day in Houston
11:23 AM CST on Wednesday, January 7, 2009
HOUSTON – When it comes to our weather, there is good news and bad news.
First, here is the good news. After several days of cold and rain, it’s only fair that Mother Nature reward us with a winner of a day.
“It’s going to be a gorgeous day. I mean wow,” said 11 News Meteorologist David Paul.
“We’re looking at blue skies, sunshine, and the temperatures will be rebounding into the mid to upper 60s today,” said Paul.
Paul said that it’s definitely going to be tough to stay in the office and school.
“Teachers, give the kids an extra long recess or two recess periods today, because it’s going to be a gorgeous day,” said Paul.
“The high tomorrow (Thursday) will be in the mid to upper 70s. Also, expect a high of 78 on Friday. It will also be partly cloudy then,” said Paul.
OK, now the bad news. Yes, we can enjoy today, because the cold and wet stuff will return soon.
“Friday night, our next cold front comes in and will make things cold and wet Saturday and Sunday. The temperatures will be in the low 50s Saturday and then dip into the 30s Sunday. The high Sunday will struggle to get out of the 50s,” said Paul.
Paul said that a Canadian front is moving into Texas next week and that will keep our temperature in the 30s next week.
