More cold weather ahead for Houston
07:13 PM CST on Sunday, November 16, 2008
HOUSTON -- It's beginning to feel a lot like fall in Harris County.
A cold front blew in Friday night, bringing with it a serious drop in the mercury.
But according to 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez, it looks like the cold weather is going to stay for a few more days.
"We'll be seeing almost a repeat of Saturday night on Sunday night," said Gomez. "In fact, the numbers may drop to the upper-30s."
Those who live by the island will be slightly warmer. Gomez said the temperature in that area will be around the mid-40s.
By Monday afternoon, the temperature could reach the mid-60s.
The good news is this weather isn't here to stay. Gomez said that as the week progresses, the mercury will begin to rise.
"By Thursday, we may see temperatures around the mid-70s," said Gomez.
