HOUSTON -- This was the first Sunday services for Lakewood Church after the verdict that cleared their pastors in a civil lawsuit. Many people were wondering if Joel and Victoria Osteen would talk about the trial during the service.  They did, but in the form of a sermon.

Within the first 30 seconds of a thunderous ovation, Pastor Joel Osteen was in tears. The support of his congregation was overwhelming, but he was ready to claim victory for his wife and his faith.

"We feel like it’s not just a victory for us. It's a victory for God's kingdom. It's a victory for all of us together," said Joel Osteen during the service.

In a service dedicated to celebrating that victory, the Osteen’s shared new details about the trial. Joel Osteen said he spent his time in court writing Psalms on a yellow legal notepad.

"I must have been nervous I have ‘favor’ written eleven times in a row," said Osteen.

They also revealed that Victoria Osteen served herself communion each morning - and prayed.

"And one of the things I did was, I prayed for those who persecuted me. And let me tell you something, that wasn't easy," said Victoria Osteen.

But they did not mention that person by name: Sharon Brown, the flight attendant who claimed Victoria Osteen assaulted her two and a half years ago.

Members of the congregation and staff sent messages to her instead.

"Maybe she should come out to the church and praise and worship...and change her life around," said Clarissa Henderson, Lakewood Church member.

"We're praying for her just as we were Victoria," said Jason Staples, another member.

"We're not celebrating over somebody or somebody. We're just simply celebrating that God is faithful, that God is good, that God is still on the throne," said Osteen.

The Osteens are Houston's pre-eminent preachers of positive thinking.  They believe and preach that good things happen when you keep the faith. They openly celebrated today, believing they are now their very own proof.

Sharon Brown has not spoken to 11 News since the trail ended. Her attorney said they had not decided if they would appeal the verdict.
