Compromise reached for Metro's new light rail route
12:07 PM CDT on Friday, July 25, 2008
HOUSTON – Metro has reportedly reached a compromise over the University light rail corridor.
A decision was reached after weeks of debating the issue.
Metro originally planned to build the line along Wheeler to Ennis, but residents complained the construction would ruin their historic neighborhood.
On Thursday, Metro’s board of directors approved a change to turn North from Wheeler on Hutchins.
That decision will save about four blocks of Wheeler.
