Two hurt in crash with Harris Co. deputy

HOUSTON -- Several people were recovering in the hospital Wednesday after a crash involving a Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy.
It happened at the intersection of Highway 146 and Wharton Weems in La Porte.
Apparently, a driver of a Mazda didn’t yield the right-of-way to the deputy and was hit by the lawman’s truck.
Two passengers in the Mazda were taken to the hospital, but they’re expected to recover.
The deputy and a third person in the Mazda were not injured.
