CHANNELVIEW, Texas—A man has been harassing young girls in the Channelview area, and law enforcement needs the public’s help getting him off the streets.
At 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 28, the man approached a 12-year-old girl who was waiting at her school bus stop in the 600 block of West Drive.
The man struck again two days later at 7:30 a.m. in the 16200 block of Avenue D., that time with a 16-year-old.
Investigators said he’s also been seen around South Drive and Woodard.

One of the girls took this cell phone picture of the man in his truck.
In each incident, the man would drive up in a dark blue Chevy or GMC pickup truck.
The truck has a license plate with a W as the third digit, and possibly a Y in the second set of numbers.
“This guy simply drove up to these little girls, rolled down his window and asked them to get into the vehicle. They got close enough to get a pretty good description,” Lt. Ruben Diaz of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
The suspect is described as a slightly built white or Hispanic male with short salt and pepper hair. He’s missing his two upper front teeth.
The girls told police the man speaks with a lisp.
Residents expressed shock about the incidents.
“Well, it makes me sad it’s going on in our county, period. But in our neighborhood, it’s even worse. It’s right where we live,” Holder said.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and charging of a suspect in this case.
If you have a tip, call 713-222-8477. All callers will remain anonymous.
