The Ibarra brothers
Two brothers who sued Harris County had several twists and turns in their case.
On Tuesday, the case finally came to an end.
Sean and Eric Ibarra sued after they say they were wrongly arrested in 2002 during a drug raid at their neighbor’s home.
They eventually accepted a nearly $2 million settlement.
Recently, their attorney claimed the county breached the settlement deal by filing an appeal.
The attorney requested an emergency hearing for possibly a new hearing.
That request was denied, so the settlement will stand.
It was the Ibarra lawyer’s investigation into the case that brought to light the racist and pornographic e-mails found on the work computer of former Harris County DA Chuck Rosenthal.
Rosenthal resigned in February.
