Fire erupts at SW Houston apartments
02:16 PM CDT on Sunday, April 13, 2008
HOUSTON—The Houston Fire Department responded to a three-alarm blaze at an apartment complex Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at S. Gessner and Stroud around 3:30 p.m.
The fire was difficult to fight because the complex had two roofs – a newer one placed on top of an old one.
In the end, 20 total units were damaged. Ten of those sustained severe fire damage, while the other ten were damaged by water and smoke.
No one was injured in the blaze.
It was unclear how it started.
