HOUSTON -- The latest issue of Oprah’s "O" Magazine hits newsstands this week. O is featuring its favorite fashion designers for real women. The editors say these men and women know how to flatter women of all shapes, sizes and ages. 

And those designers each got to pick their favorite real women to model their clothes and appear in the pages of the May issue of O with them. Our own Lucy Noland appears in the article. She’s a big fan of Lafayette 148's designer Edward Wilkerson, and so is Oprah’s best friend, Gayle King.

“What we love about Edward is that his clothes appeal to a whole group of women, and there is something for a younger person and a more mature person and a person in between,” O Magazine’s Adam Glassman said. “It’s just about how you put the clothes together and how you wear it.”

When Lafayette 148 and O Magazine called Lucy, she hopped on a plane and headed to New York with her best friend in Houston, Rachel Gower. We’re featuring a slideshow of what goes on behind the scenes of a Manhattan fashion shoot through the eyes of Rachel and her trusty camera.

“Rachel knows what to look for since she owns Houston’s Upper Hand Salons and is all about making men and women look their best,” said Lucy.

Lucy said she’s been a fan of Lafayette 148 for years, and she’s known Wilkinson since back in the day, when she lived in New York.
