Cops: Drunk driver killed motorcyclist on I-10

HOUSTON—A man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid after a deadly accident on I-10.
Police say Jeffrey Simmons ran his van into a motorcycle, dragging the bike for more than a mile before he stopped.
The driver of the motorcycle was killed.
Police say Simmons was drunk at the time.
The accident occurred on the East Freeway at Sheldon Road in east Harris County just before 8 p.m. Friday.
Eyewitnesses told police that Simmons erratically crossed over four lanes of traffic before hitting the cyclist.
The unidentified man on the motorcycle was thrown from the bike.
