A man walking in the woods last Wednesday found the remains about half a mile from I-45 near Huntsville. That's about 60 miles north of Houston.

"A local resident became suspicious when he saw buzzards and hogs feeding in a rural area," said Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae.

Sheriff's investigators, along with the Texas Rangers and the FBI sorted through the crime scene for the next 19 hours.

The more evidence they gathered, the more convinced they became that the body might be Adams.

"We're basing this on clothes, as well as several identifying tattoos that were found on the body," McRae said.

An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death.

Adams disappeared in January just days before she was due to give birth. Her baby was due on Valentine's Day.

This is the location where Adams' body was found.

She was last seen at Bingle Road and Hwy 249 in the early morning hours of January 29th.

Her boyfriend, who is the father of her baby, said he and Adams got in a fight and he told her to get out of the car. They were a short distance from their home.

Houston police say the boyfriend, Neriah Roberts, gave an initial statement but refused to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

"He is considered a suspect at this time," McRae said.

Adams' mother said Roberts' was in Walker County shortly after her daughter disappeared.

"A phone call had also been made from Nerriah Roberts' cell phone that they traced to a tower that wasn't that far from her body," Rose Adams said. "And it was more than a coincidence.

After two months of wondering what happened, Adams wants justice for her daughter and unborn granddaughter.

"i guess people would say I have closure, but she doesn't have justice," Adams said.

"You killed my daughter, you killed my grandbaby and you sit there and blatently sit in my face like you didn't know so what other justice is it?" Adams said.

Adams was critical of the initial investigation conducted by Houston police.

Michael Dirden, HPD's Assistant Chief of Criminal Investigations, issued this statement in response:

"HPD sends its condolences to the family of Ms. Adams as a result of the tragic loss of their love one.  We are continuing to work closely with Walker Co. officials and Texas Rangers in ensuring that the person responsible for this crime is dealt with appropriately in accordance with the law.

While we are aware of recent comments questioning our investigative effort, such criticism is not grounded in fact and does not detract from the outstanding efforts from the investigators assigned to this case.

Not every fact known or every action contemplated by law enforcement can be shared with the public nor a victim's family.  Our effort at this point is to assist in bringing the criminal investigation to a proper conclusion, recognizing that his may provide little solace to the Adams family."

Walker County and the Texas Rangers have taken over the case.
