HOUSTON -- What was supposed to be a friendly soccer match between the United States and Mexico at Reliant turned violent Wednesday night.
A brawl broke out after the game, and two people were shot just after 10:45 p.m.
Witnesses said a man approached two others and got into a fight. He pulled out a gun and shot each of them.
One man was shot in the leg, and the other was shot in the back.
"And then we heard what we thought were shots," witness David Lozanda said. "We thought it was fired in the air, so we ran for cover, but it actually seemed like somebody actually got shot. When people came out, and we noticed there were three people -- two or three people on the floor."
Both of the men who were shot were taken to the hospital and are in serious condition.
Police said the man was seen leaving the area in a 1980s model purple Bonneville.
