Official: Inmate hurt trying to escape from unit in Rosharon

An inmate is in the hospital after he was injured while trying to escape from a unit in Rosharon.
David Luke Davis, authorities say, tried climbing a fence at the String Fellow Unit in Rosharon.
It’s reported an officer saw Davis and warned him to come down.
She then shot at him when he didn’t respond.
KHOU - TV
The bullet missed Davis, but he fell down and hit his head.
He suffered a concussion and broken ribs.
The assistant warden praised the officer’s actions.
Davis has a long criminal history. He was serving a life sentence for a series of aggravated robberies.
He was out on parole, when he committed those crimes.
