Bees, 450 pounds of honey removed from Harris County home
11:07 AM CST on Sunday, January 13, 2008
Neighbors in northwest Harris County were faced with creepy sight Saturday when a giant colony of bees was removed from a home on Waverly Grove.
A pest control company came out to remove the bees, along with an estimated 450 pounds of honey.
“This is a lot of honey. This isn’t supposed to be happening here. Maybe you can have one, but not embedded, embedded, embedded,” one pest remover said.
The SPCA removed eight cats from the home Friday.
Investigators say trash was piled high and there was feces several inches thick all over the house.
Workers also found several cat carcasses and a stench they say was unbearable.
The homeowner did not live in there, but would reportedly spend several hours a day in the house with the cats.
She has not been charged with any violations.
