Wal-Mart surpasses Kroger in grocery sales

It’s all in the bag for Wal-Mart.

A new survey by a grocery industry trade publication says Wal-Mart Supercenters have knocked Kroger from the top shelf in Houston.

The report says Wal-Mart’s 50 stores make up more than 28 percent of the market.

That’s compared to Kroger’s 25 percent for that chain’s 100 stores.
