Cyclist struck and killed by beer van

Video from the scene of the fatal accident

A bicyclist was struck and killed by a beer van in west Houston Friday night. The unidentified rider was hit about 7 p.m. in the 7000 block of Old Katy Road.

Police said the Bud Light van was from a nearby Budweiser distributorship.

The man, who was wearing a helmet, suffered severe head trauma in the accident. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police told 11 News.
