Nine injured in light rail collision

At least nine people were injured when a METRO light rail train collided with a car in Downtown Houston this afternoon. The accident occurred at the tracks at Main Street and Pease about 3 p.m.
The injured include two in the vehicle that drove into the train’s path as well as seven passengers aboard the train.
The railline was shut down in both directions as rescue crews worked to pull the injured driver from the car. The rail resumed operation about 5 p.m.
