Police say a man who carjacked an SUV with a toddler inside should be considered armed and dangerous.
The ordeal began Wednesdasy at around 6:55 p.m.
Police say, the toddler's mother left the keys and child inside her white Chevrolet Trailblazer.
An armed man reportedly approached the woman as she was walking to the SUV and demanded her wallet and keys.
The gunman then stole the vehicle which was at Champions Forest and Bermuda Dunes in northwest Harris County.
The woman's 17-month-old son was inside.
Police say the toddler's mother chased the car on foot before flagging down another vehicle and called 911.
The stolen SUV and the child were found about one hour later down the road on Bermuda Dunes.
The toddler was reportedly ok, but authorities had to force the SUV open to get him out of the vehicle.
He was eventually reunited with his mother who ironically is the head of her neighborhood crime watch.
The search is on for the suspect who got away while the vehicle he stole is being searched for clues.
