JOHNSON SPACE CENTER – NASA has revealed several opportunities to see the International Space Station in orbit.
Through Friday, it’s visible for a few minutes at a time flying quickly over the Texas sky.
“It can be a spectacular sight,” said John Ira Petty, NASA Spokesman. “It looks very much like a star.”
Tuesday night, at 9:21, it’s visible for five minutes beginning in the west southwestern sky.
Early Wednesday morning, at 5:22, it comes back into view for Houstonians, also for five minutes. It will begin in the northwestern sky.
Thursday, the ISS is visible twice. First at 4:08, it will be visible for four minutes beginning in the north northwestern sky. Then almost two hours later, at 5:44 AM, it’s visible for three minutes in the western sky.
Finally, the last viewing opportunity is a quick one. Friday night at 8:52 the space station is visible for less than a minute in the north northwestern sky.
