Toddler critical after being tossed from car

Toddler was not wearing seatbelt at time of accident.

A 3-year-old child was in critical condition after being ejected from an SUV on the North Freeway Friday Night.

The incident occurred about 9 p.m. on I-45 near Cypresswood. An SUV was attempting to avoid debris in the road when the driver lost control and the vehicle flipped several times.

A three year old, who police said was not wearing a set belt or in a booster seat, was tossed from the vehicle. Another child under a years old was also in the vehicle but was uninjured.

The injured 3-year-old was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
