Baby abduction thwarted
06:20 AM CDT on Saturday, April 14, 2007
In the very early hours of Thursday morning, security personnel at Texas Woman's Hospital immediately responded to a possible kidnapping call inside its nursery.
A baby alarm sounded and the floor where newborns are kept went into a lock-down mode. No one could enter or leave.
A frightening event to say the least considering what happened just a month ago when baby was kidnapped from a Lubbock hospital.

That baby boy was allegedly abducted by Rayshaun Parson who police said posed as a nurse.
Baby Michael was found the next day in Clovis New Mexico, where Parson lived. She was charged with kidnapping.
Here in Houston The person trying to take the newborn claimed to be the father of the child.
Because of tight security, he was unable to get the elevator to open or leave down the stairwell.
Houston police said the suspect would not give up the child and had to be shot with a taser. Homicide investigated the incident and the man HPD says has been charged with endangering a child.
Texas Woman's hospital said security is its utmost priority. Director of Marketing Kris Muller said each family is educated about security procedures there.
“If we disclose any other safety measures, we could compromise the safety and welfare of the infants and women that we currently serve,” said Muller. “In this case our safety measures worked. Our infant abduction deterrent was effective."
Security procedures across the country -- like ID arm and leg bracelets that can trigger an alarm -- seemed to be working.
Even in Lubbock.
Police say they later learned that Parson actually entered another hospital there and saw a security tag that was actually attached to a newborns' umbilical clip.
So she left.
