He climbed more than 70 feet to save his pet cockatoo, and now the bird man of Conroe is making sure his best friend doesn’t get them both in trouble again.
On Friday, William Hart took his bird Geronimo to the vet to have his wings clipped.
According to Hart, the bird flew out of their home on Tuesday and landed in a tree.
Hart climbed up after Geronimo but then found he was unable to get down. It took several agencies on the ground and in the air to bring hart and his bird down to safety.
Hart said he doesn’t want Geronimo flying up anymore trees and admits he had a little trouble getting the bird to the vet Friday morning.
“I got out of bed and he just ran back under the covers and laid back down and didn’t want to get up this morning," Hart said. "It’s like he knew he already had a busy day this morning.”
According to the vet, Geronimo will need to have his wings clipped about every six months to keep him from flying away again.
