Houston park fees to increase
05:36 PM CDT on Wednesday, March 28, 2007
Amateur sports teams will pay higher prices for playing in Houston parks.
Houston’s city council has voted to raise those fees and in some cases, impose fees for what used to be free service.
Parks Department officials point out they haven’t raised fees in 17 years and that Houstonians will still pay substantially less than amateur teams pay in other Texas cities.
Youth groups can bypass the fees with a sweat equity deal to maintain their fields.
