A nine year old girl from the city of South Houston was struck by a car that plowed through her family’s home Thursday night. The girl was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital as investigators try to piece together what happened.

A nine year old girl is injured when car smashes into a South Houston home Thursday night.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Pennsylvania and Amarillo just before 6 p.m. Initial reports have it that a car driven by a 53-year-old woman sped through two yards before crashing into the home where the 9-year-old lives.
Joenia Saenz, 9, was taken by Life Flight to Hermann as was reported to be in stable condition.
No one else was hurt.
South Houston police said he driver was in custody with an intoxicated assault charge pending.
