Houston police confirm that the body of a suspect in a 2003 quadruple murder in Clear Lake has been found in Greenville, South Carolina.

Christopher Lee Snider, left, was charged with capital murder along with Christine Marie Paolilla, right.

Acting on a tip to HPD, Greenville police used cadaver dogs to find the body in a heavily wooded area not far from where Christopher Snider was last seen alive.

Snider had been staying with a Greenville woman he had met on the Internet. But he disappeared after learning he was about to be arrested for the Clear Lake murders.

The woman, whom police did not identify, told authorities Snider had fled her house on foot Thursday with nothing but a bottle of her prescription painkillers. He apparently had no money, car or change of clothes.

Houston police traveled to Greenville last month after charging him with the shooting deaths of four teenagers who were gunned down in the Clear Lake home of one of the victims.

Christine Marie Paolilla was arrested in San Antonio on July 19 and identified Snider as her accomplice. Houston investigators went first to Louisville, Ky., where Snider's parents live, after learning of Snider's possible involvement in the crime from Crimestopper hotline tips.

Snider, 21, and Paolilla, 20, were charged with capital murder in the slayings of Tiffany Nichole Rowell, 18; Marcus Ray Precella, 19; Rachel Ann Koloroutis, 18; and Adelbert Nicholas Sanchez, 21.

Paolilla said Snider was the first to open fire and held his hands on her gun "and the gun just started going off," according to a probable cause affidavit.

Paolilla, who once dated Snider, graduated from Clear Lake High School in 2003 with three of the victims.

Police said the motive for the crime was "the hunt for drugs and money."

"The victims were in a situation with a lot of partying and drugs around," Harris said. "They were very open and trusting."

Harris said the victims — who were all shot multiple times and died from those wounds or a blow to the head — likely saw the attack coming.

"It wasn't as if they just barged in — by all indications, this was a planned event," Harris said. "The victims knew beforehand — there was a conversation beforehand."

Harris said weapons were found in the home of Snider's parents, who likely were not "hiding or protecting" Snider.

"We have some weapons that we are testing," Harris said. "We cannot confirm that they were the weapons used. They seem to be of the same caliber."
