Houston's controversy over public access television drew a crowd
Wednesday to City Hall.
City Council Member Addie Wiseman objects to the racy language sometimes
aired on Houston MediaSource, the access channel funded with fees paid
by cable TV subscribers.
Wednesday supporters of the channel lined up to criticize the critical
council member.
"You may have a right to speak, but you don't have a right to force
garbage into my home and force me to pay for it," said Wiseman.
"They have an invention for that, it's called the remote control and if
you're ever watching something you don't like, change the channel," said
access channel supporter Durrel Douglas.
Media Source managers are expected to appear before a special city
council committee meeting next week.
