A store clerk's quick thinking helped Houston police capture two men who
tried to rob his convenience store.
The two suspects went into the store on Centerwood and the East Freeway
around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said the clerk was shot in the shoulder. But he somehow grabbed
his own gun, distracted the suspects by shooting in the air, then
pistol-whipped one of them.
A second clerk called police from a back room.
The clerk and one of the suspects were taken to Ben Taub Hospital. The
other was arrested.
