With Southeast Texas under a flood watch until Thursday morning,
residents southwest of Houston had other concerns Wednesday afternoon.
At least one tornado was spotted and photographed by a viewer in
Clemville, a small town just west of Bay City.
The viewer reported the sighting around 2:15 Wednesday afternoon. Larry
Douglas, a plant manager for Texas Brine in Clemville took the photo
from a location within a mile of the funnel.
"Right in the middle of the picture there you see that little area, the
funnel that's down touching the ground," said 11 News meteorologist Dr.
Neil Frank.
Matagorda and Wharton counties were two of the areas hardest hit by
heavy rain Wednesday.
"There are some places where we had four inches (of rain)," said Dr.
Frank. "Had a report from Sweeney, they're reporting six inches of rain."
"But heavier rain is moving over Houston and on over to the north
eastern part of our area tonight and tomorrow."
