Metro’s light rail had its 36th accident Wednesday.
Police say a car turned in front of the train at the intersection of
Fannin and Holly Hall.
The train hit the car and sent it crashing into another vehicle.
Two people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
Metro’s light rail has an accident rate 25 times the national average.
San Francisco’s light rail holds the national record with 61 light rail
accidents in a year, but if Metro continues to have accidents at this
rate, it will have over a hundred wrecks in one year.
