Workshop to offer advice on identity theft protection

Whether stolen from the Internet or from credit cards, identity theft is on the rise according to the Federal Trade Commission.

The commission handled nearly 162,000 cases last year.

FTC representatives will offer protection advice next Wednesday during an identity theft workshop hosted by Houston Congressman Gene Green.

The seminar is open to the public
