Approximately 2,300 military reservists based near the Texas Medical
Center are being relocated to Ellington Field.
Under an agreement to be signed in August, the reserve unit will move to
30 acres owned by the city of Houston at Ellington.
11 News learned that the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center will buy part of
the land on Old Spanish Trail. It could be used to expand the hospital's
research facility or to attract private businesses working on medical
research.
