HOUSTON – An overturned 18-wheeler flipped onto its side and caught fire on an eastbound connecting ramp of the East Freeway near downtown Friday afternoon.
Houston TranStar reported the crash occurred at 12:54 p.m.
The ramp at the Eastex Freeway was closed off as emergency crews responded. Traffic on both I-10 and US-59 was slow.
Views from Air 11 showed Houston firefighters trying to put on the blaze. Some debris fell from the truck onto the grass below the ramp.
There was no immediate word on any injuries. TranStar reported the big rig was the only vehicle involved in the accident.
