When a kiss is not just a kiss
06:05 PM CST on Monday, January 21, 2008
HOUSTON -- There's more fallout tonight in a bizarre case involving a Houston politician, a Christmas party and a stolen kiss.
Witnesses say State Rep. Borris Miles showed up at the party uninvited, waved a gun and forcibly kissed another man's wife.
"....He grabbed me by my face," said Krsynthia Rido.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is looking into the allegations.
Miles represents District 146. He is facing a Democratic primary challenge from former state Rep. Al Edwards.
11 News Political Expert Bob Stein says the expected high voter turnout in the March 4th primary might work against Miles.

"This is a Christmas present that comes very late for former representative Al Edwards, in his run against Borris Miles," said Stein.
"Well, it's kind of like mindboggling," Edwards said Monday. "It's hard to believe..."
Edwards, a longtime state lawmaker, lost his seat to Miles last time around.
'If that's true, District 146, I don't think, is gonna sit by and accept that," said Edwards. "Tthat has nothing to do with politics at all. That just showed his character, or lack of character, however you want to put it."
The problems continued to pile up for Miles on Monday when his public relations firm dropped him as a client.
Meanwhile, Krsynthia Rido and her husband, Nathaniel, filed a lawsuit in state district court on Friday.
"Well, it angered me. I didn't like it. It was against my will."
The Ridos’ lawsuit contends Miles acted in a “depraved, unconscionable and reckless manner, leaving in his wake shame, embarrassment and mental trauma.”
Krysynthia Rido said she fears AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases because she was exposed to “Miles’ unwanted bodily fluids.” She wants the court to order Miles to undergo blood tests for sexually transmitted diseases.
'I would like a public apology to my wife, to my family...to myself," said Nathaniel Ridos.
The suit also accuses Miles, 42, of assault and battery and asks for compensatory and punitive damages.
The Houston businessman who hosted that December party has also filed a complaint with the Harris County District Attorney, claiming Miles confronted him, greeted him with an intimidating kiss, and brandished his concealed handgun.
Miles’ spokesman, Donald Fields, told the Houston Chronicle that Miles was not available for comment because he was in Memorial Hospital with pneumonia. Monday, Miles' office said he was being treated for complications from sickle cell anemia.
"I think the best answer here is stay tuned," said Stein.
