Police: Electrocuted teen not killed by accident

Police have discovered that a teen who was electrocuted last month was not killed accidentally.

GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas - Investigators now say that a teen who was electrocuted last month was not killed by accident.

Authorities are looking for the person who cut down the power lines which caused the 19-year-old's death.

An isolated spot with no witnesses, no video and no leads to help Galveston County's top crime fighters answer the question eating at them the last two weeks - who cut down the utility pole along Highway 6, stole the copper inside, and exposed the live wires that electrocuted Mason Curlee?

According to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, the teen’s family reported him missing. A search eventually turned up his truck parked along Highway 6 near Water Company Canal.

The sheriff’s office says the teen apparently went fishing at a pond in the area and came into contact with the power lines about 200 yards from his truck.

CenterPoint donated $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible. If you think you know anything, call Galveston County CrimeStoppers.
