BAYTOWN, Texas – A man is dead and a woman was transported by Life Flight after a double shooting at a Baytown apartment complex Friday morning.

According to the Baytown Police Department, officers received two 911 call of a disturbance and then shots fired at about 5 a.m. at a complex in 3400 block of Shady Hill Drive.

The victims have been identified as 38-year-old Lloyd David Trim Jr. and 20-year-old Jasmine Gonzales. The two were reportedly dating, according to police.

Baytown Police say the Harris County Sheriff's Office has accepted capital murder charges against 32-year-old Derrick Bernard Sr. Police say Bernard was an acquaintance of both of the victims and that Trim and Bernard argued earlier in the evening.

“I literally drove like 80 miles from Garth here,” said Kristen Trejo. “My kids! What if bullets would have went in [through the wall] and hi my sister or my kids?”

Trejo said she moved next door to apartment 76B a month ago. She left for work at 4 a.m. and says she saw Trim sitting outside.

“He told me good morning. Have a good day,” said Trejo.

About one hour later, someone stormed Trim’s apartment.

“I just heard banging and I woke up,” said Shyann Trejo who was home watching her sister’s two young children. “I went to the room with the babies and then I heard more banging, and then it stopped.”

“I’m moving out. I’m gone,” said Kristen Trejo as she and her sister Shyann walked Trejo’s 1-and 2-year-old children out of the apartment building.
