Pasadena officer shoots machete-wielding man while serving narcotics warrant

PASADENA, TEXAS - Pasadena Police say a suspect is expected to survive being shot by an officer late Wednesday.

The shooting occurred before 7 p.m. on London at Penfield.

According to a police spokesman, undercover narcotics officers serving a warrant went into a home, and the suspect tried to attack an officer with a machete. The officer retreated and pulled his gun, shooting the suspect in his stomach.

Police say the officer feared for his life and the safety of fellow officers.

The suspect was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

No officers were hurt in the incident.
