HOUSTON- ConocoPhillips announced that it will be relocating its Houston headquarters on Tuesday, but it isn't moving far.
In a note to employees, ConocoPhillips Chairman and CEO Ryan Lance wrote:
“After a careful review, we plan to relocate our Houston headquarters to Energy Center 4 (EC4). I’m excited about the prospect of having all our Houston-based employees near each other and in modern, cost-effective buildings. Relocation is expected to begin in mid-2018 following the interior build out at EC4. This decision only impacts our Houston-area workforce, but it’s part of our collective efforts to build a new future.”
The current headquarters is located at 600 North Dairy Ashford. The new location will remain in the Energy Corridor across I-10 on Eldridge Parkway.
In 2015, the company moved employees from other Houston offices to Energy Center 3 (EC3).
The company said the move will provide its employees easier access to the Katy Freeway in the Energy Corridor.
EC3 and EC4 will combine to offer approximately 1,150,000 square feet of space. The buildings are joined by a sky bridge.
The new campus will include a wellness center, cafeteria and other similar amenities which are currently provided to the workforce on the main campus.
The company said they are currently looking at options for its existing headquarters campus which sits on 62 acres with 1.4 million square feet of buildings.
