HOUSTON – Police who thought they were investigating a chemical leak made a gruesome discovery in northeast Houston Friday night.
Officers said they found the body of a woman at a check-cashing business in the 2400 block of Fulton.
According to investigators, they were called to the scene after reports of a foul odor, which they initially believed to be the result of some kind of chemical spill.
When they entered the building, they found the woman’s body.
She was nude and bound, and investigators said they believe she was sexually assaulted.
The woman’s identity and cause of death were not known.
