HOUSTON – Wednesday is National Beer Lovers Day and perhaps no one loved beer more than Houston homeowner John Milkovisch.
In the late 60's he turned his home into a shrine to his favorite past time.
The home is covered with flattened beer cans. Old style pop tops hang from the rafters along with pull tabs.
Inside, the home is impeccably restored to its 1950's charm. On shelves and in cupboards are plenty of empties of brands that no longer exist.
The beer can house is located at 222 Malone St. near Memorial Drive. It is open on Saturdays and Sundays, admission is $5.
The Beer Can House was purchased, restored and is currently operated by The Orange Show which promotes unusual folk art.
In honor of National Beer Lovers Day, Saint Arnold Brewery is offering specials at Hop Daddy Burger Bar.
