WALLER, Texas- A student at Waller High School spread a rumor about a security threat that authorities determined was not true on Monday morning.
According to Waller Independent School District, the district immediately investigated the incident and secured the student who created the rumor. The student spoke with officials and admitted to "making a statement in a frivolous manner."
Officials confirmed there was no factual evidence of any threat at the school. As a precaution, the school will increase the visibility of law enforcement.
"We will continue to work closely with law enforcement officials on this incident," wrote Danny Twardowski, superintendent for Waller ISD."We are committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all of our Waller ISD family."
