Friendswood PD: Rider dies from injuries in crash, was not wearing helmet

FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS - Friendswood Police confirm a 42-year-old motorcycle rider died from injuries sustained in a wreck first reported Tuesday afternoon.

The man was traveling on FM 528 near W. Bay Area Boulevard when he collided with a Ford Mustang shortly after 12 p.m.

Police identified the rider as Jeremy Brooks, of Heritage Park. They say he was not wearing a helmet and was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he later died.

The driver of the Mustang, a 20-year-old League City man, was not injured and cooperated with investigators.

The crash remains under investigation, but the driver was released with no charges filed in the incident.

According to Friendswood Police, the motorcycle rider had an expired driver’s license and was driving what appeared to be a hotwired motorcycle.
